The Cattle Ranching and Farming industry is experiencing greater than average employment growth as of late. In 2014 the government estimated a total of 148,000 workers, then just 12 months later it had climbed to 153,814, an increase of 3.93%. With OSHA reported accident rates of less than that of the the Animal Production Industry as a whole, things have been relatively safe over the past five years.

NarrativeAt 4:30 p.m. on September 24, 2018, Employee #1 was standing on the peak of the sheet metal roof of the north protective cattle structure. He was removing screws from sheet metal and light panels while Coworker #1 and Coworker #2 were working from a scissor lift below. While standing on the two purlins that run the length of the structure, Employee #1 fell through one of the light panels to the cement ground below, approximately 24 feet, and was killed.
On Wednesday, October 10th 2018 OSHA reps took a report of a serious accident in Saline, MI which had occured previously at D & M Marion Inc. A 64 year old had been killed when the employee was struck or pinned by dairy cow and was killed

NarrativeAt 7:45 a.m. on April 11, 2018, an employee was moving dairy cows to feed them and/ or clean out the floor area. During work, the employee was struck or pinned by one of the animals that was moving rapidly in a penned in area. The employee was killed as a result.
The accident investigation below was opened on Friday, January 19th 2018 by OSHA representitives in Amarillo, TX after learning of an incident at Friona Industries Lp which had occured on the same day. A 55 year old Laborer had been killed when the employee was killed when caught between two vehicles.

NarrativeAt 7:15 a.m. on January 19, 2018, an employee was attempting to stop a semi from running into a pickup truck. In his attempt to stop the semi, he was caught between the semi and the truck. The employee was taken to a nearby hospital where he passed away.
