NarrativeAt 12:30 p.m. on September 26, 2017, an employee had completed approximately 100 kits and the bagging machine moved or shifted, not allowing bags to be closed or cut properly. Soon after, the bagging machine was moving/shifting causing the bag not to be closed/cut properly. The employee transferred to Station/Machine #7 (Advanced Poly Bagger) where she began to place car parts into a bag and pressed on the foot pedal to activate the pneumatic clamp/press. The employees fingertip came into contact with an unguarded point of operation after pressing the foot pedal and she amputated the tip of one of her fingers. The employee was transported to U.S. Healthworks Medical Group for treatment but was not hospitalized.
