NarrativeOn January 10, 2012, an employee was operating a hand-fed standalone platen press, BRAUSSE PE-2M. For unspecified reasons, the upper torso of the employee was crushed in the press and the employee was killed. The knee bar, safety bar on the mobile platen, and overhead safety devices were in place when inspected after the accident. The points of operation on the sides of the press were not guarded.
