NarrativeAt 7:30 a.m. on December 13, 2018, an employee was performing a metal detection testing procedure for a batch of chicken meat used to make sausages and placed her finger into the reject valve to dislodge a test ball that was stuck. The employee caught her finger when the valve moved and her coworkers turned off the machine and disconnected the air pressure hose. The employee removed her finger which was lacerated and fractured. The employee went to the hospital when her finger was surgically amputated. The employee was hospitalized.
