NarrativeAn employee was assembling a side belt driven conveyor. While checking the motor during the assembly, he noticed a clicking noise. He inspected what was causing the noise while the machine was running. His hand slipped while using a hand tool to adjust the chain that runs the motor, and his thumb went in between the chain and gear. He sustained a partial right thumb amputation.
