OSHA investigators arrived in Raleigh, NC on Thursday, September 15th 2016 and began an accident investigation after learning of an incident at Southlight Healthcare which had occured on Wednesday, September 14th 2016. NarrativeAt 4:30 p.m. on September 14, 2016, an employee reported to begin his work shift as a Security Officer at SouthLight Healthcare, a substance abuse and health care center. At approximately 8:18 p.m., the employee's responsibility was to conduct safety and security checks on the property. For an unknown reason, the employee attempted to cross a public roadway, from the western curb line to the eastern curb line. A northbound vehicle struck the employee causing blunt force trauma, resulting in the employee's death.
