NarrativeAt 4:30 p.m. on September 14, 2016, an employee reported to begin his work shift as a Security Officer at SouthLight Healthcare, a substance abuse and health care center. At approximately 8:18 p.m., the employee's responsibility was to conduct safety and security checks on the property. For an unknown reason, the employee attempted to cross a public roadway, from the western curb line to the eastern curb line. A northbound vehicle struck the employee causing blunt force trauma, resulting in the employee's death.
